Malta Gaming Authority (MGA)
Since its inception in 2001, the MGA has worked to maintain order in the gaming industry by enforcing standards of fairness and transparency for players, prohibiting criminal activity and the laundering of illicit funds, and safeguarding the interests of the industry’s most vulnerable members.
The MGA was one of the first regulators to establish legislation that governs online gaming enterprises and creates a safe environment for players. Starting with the Lotteries and Other Games Act, 2001 and Chapters 438 and 400 of the Laws of Malta, a complete system of rules, regulations, and directives govern the business.
